Ravens down the Broncos 30-7:
By Matt Winter, November 2, 2009
The Baltimore ravens got back to their winning ways on Sunday as they beat the undefeated Broncos 30-7 in a game where the Ravens dominated every aspect of the ball.
Baltimore ran all over a Broncos’ defense that ranked third in the NFL against the rush, going into yesterday’s game. Joe Flacco was efficient enough to complete his last 14 pass attempts and the Ravens are now 10-2 when Flacco doesn’t throw an interception.
The defense was also solid yesterday and only allowed a rushing touchdown and forced a turnover on a big hit from Ed Reed.
The Ravens go on the road next week to face a tough, 5-1 Bengals team who beat the Ravens on a fourth-quarter drive in week five.
State of the Ravens:
By Matt Winter: Wednesday, October 28
I recently sat down with Mark Zinno to basically discuss the state of the Baltimore Ravens. I asked him a variety of different questions about their problems, players who could be used to help, trades and how to fix their struggles.
Im honestly surprised about how calm he is about the Ravens’ situation.
My consensus of their situation is that they’re screwed. They had wins in the last three games, but blew them on a dropped pass, poor coverage and a missed field goal. I think, especially since we have two powerhouses ahead of us in the standings, that we have no chance for the playoffs.
Mark Zinno didn’t seem worried at all and still sees a playoff run in the Ravens future. He does agree with me though that this game against the Broncos is a must-win. The Ravens can’t afford to drop to 3-4 and fall even further in the wild card race.
We’ll see if my opinions change after this Sunday.
Introductions:
I would like to introduce you to my 2009 MCOM 258 beat blog.
Every week I’m going to be giving you thoughts from inside the Ravens clubhouse and thoughts of my own throughout the week. I’ll be talking about all things Ravens; their matchups, their strategies, their thoughts on the other team and what they expect.
Feel free to follow me this season as I follow the team week in and week out and hopefully all the way into the playoffs.
